About

Let’s be honest. Coding is really frustrating.

But if you want to automate s*** on your computer, it’s kind of unavoidable. That’s what GifGuide2Code is here for.

Mission Statement

Our goal is to provide monthly tutorials that don’t make you feel like taking a mallet to your hard drive. It’s pretty hit or miss, but we try. Lots of graphics. Gifs when possible.

The content is largely driven by personal preference; however, on occasion, we will accept requests by email. Response times vary wildly. The site just came off a long hiatus, so there’s going to be a bit of catch up.

History

GifGuide2Code started in 2016, when its founder was living a much colder climate and couldn’t go outdoors. It dropped in productivity significantly after 2018 because said founder relocated to a city with a hell of a beach. This was followed by sporadic scripts after subsequent moves, job changes, a pandemic, and a case of carpal tunnel.

Anyway, currently GifGuide is based in far enough away from the water that it’s up and running. Please be patient as we update our content.

FAQ

Are you sure you know what you’re doing?

No. It’s important to note that these are tutorials for amateurs by amateurs. If you know a better way of scripting something, post it in the comments!

Some of the older scripts aren’t working?

We’re aware of that issue. As different versions of programs are released (I’m looking at you, Blender), older scripts can get buggy or stop working altogether. Throw a message into the comments if something throws an error, and we’ll take a look at it.

Are you taking on collaborators/outside writers?

Not at the moment. But your interest is appreciated.
